Job description

Full Time Permanent Position, Monday to Friday

G&H is a world leader in optical designing, testing, and manufacturing. As experts in the technology of light, G&H works with customers to provide optical systems, assemblies, and components for demanding applications. We have a vacancy in our busy assembly department, working within a small team to manufacture periscopes and opto-mechanical sights.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  2. Clean production equipment and work areas.
  3. Mix adhesives and prepare metal to optics bonding.
  4. Bond optical surfaces together for substrates and laser protection filters.
  5. Set optical sub-assemblies to the correct orientation.
  6. Inspect optics and metal work to required specifications.
  7. Follow the MRB process for non-conforming parts.
  8. Perform AQL inspection on some parts.
  9. Ensure history card and other documentation is completed.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
  1. Experience of working in an assembly environment would be advantageous, ideally testing and inspecting work.
  2. Used to working to tight deadlines.
  3. Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  4. Good problem-solving skills and results-oriented.
  5. Ability to work on own initiative.
  6. Good manual handling skills.
  7. Flexibility and openness to working overtime when required.
