Job summary

Eaton in Worksop, UK is seeking an Assembly Operative for the Twilight shift to assemble, inspect and test electrical switchgear to defined quality standards, while meeting productivity targets and delivery dates.

You will follow SOPs, use hand and torque tools, perform audits, and maintain a clean, safe workspace in line with HASAWA and company policy. Eaton offers 25 days leave, health benefits, and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Ability to follow SOPs and work instructions accurately.
• Good understanding of quality standards, tolerances and process controls.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, Inspect, Pack, Test and Audit electrical switch gear to manufacturing requirements.
• Contribute to quality and productivity targets.
• Demonstrate awareness of orders and delivery dates.
• Maintain clean and safe work area in line with 5s+ standards.
• Undertake training for development as agreed with Supervisors.

Assemble, Inspect, Pack, Test and Audit electrical switch gear to manufacturing requirements whilst achieving Quality and Productivity targets. Align to the specific Skill Band criteria for role. Working on the Twilight shift (11.00am - 6.30pm Mon-Thur 10.00am - 4.00PM Fri)

• Ensure tasks and output are to acceptable standards in accordance with the company policy and procedures.
• Undertake product auditing throughout general assembly. (Skill Band 2>)
• Demonstrate an awareness of orders and dates to meet delivery times and customer requirements
• Demonstrate initiative and flexibility to ensure smooth and efficient running of department.
• Observe and adopt safe working practices in accordance with Company health and safety policy and all relevant health and safety legislation; i.e. HASAWA 1974 etc
• Achieve MTM & SPC targets where appliciable
• Undertake training necessary for development as agreed with Supervisors/Team Leader
• Communicate problems affecting role or responsibilities to Supervisors/Team Leader.
• Ensure workarea is to clean & tidy at all times adhere to 5s+ standards
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed.

Skills:

Quality control awareness – Knowledge of standards, tolerances, and how to ensure products meet specifications

Use of tools and equipment – Competence with hand tools, torque tools, testing devices, etc.

Understanding of MTM/SPC – Basic familiarity with time measurement (Method Time Measurement) and statistical process control to maintain productivity and quality

Electrical assembly skills - Ability to follow work instructions and SOPs to correctly assemble switchgear components

Health & Safety Awareness - Basic understanding of workplace safety rules, following instructions, using PPE, and keeping the work area safe and tidy.
