Job description

Assembly Operative – Permanent Role

Salary: £12.21 - £12.71 (DOE)

Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 38 hours

Location: Derby (DE24 area)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Operative to support the production and assembly of engine transport stands. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling products to specification, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring smooth workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assemble engine transportation stands to specification, ensuring they are ready for dispatch.
  2. Receive deliveries and store products within the facility.
  3. Perform initial visual inspection of engine stands & products delivered.
  4. Conduct quality checks and product testing as required.
  5. Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards in the workshop.
  6. Provide on-site assembly and support services at customer locations across the UK.
  7. Operate forklifts, lifting equipment, and other mechanical tools safely.
  8. Follow manual handling and health & safety procedures at all times.
  9. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Manager.
Key Skills
  1. Proven knowledge and experience in assembly and sub-assembly operations.
  2. Experience using hand-held tools.
  3. Knowledge of mechanical engineering processes.
  4. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  5. FLT experience is desirable.
  6. Overhead crane experience is an advantage.
  7. UK driving license is required.
