Job summary

Honeywell is seeking an Assembly Technician for our Southend-on-Sea site. The role involves assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment to support reliable production and safe operations.

You will collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime and optimise plant performance. The position is full-time and on-site at the Southend site, with opportunities to contribute to Lean improvements and

Qualifications

• Technical certification or degree in Mechanical/Maintenance/Mechatronics or related field.
• Experience in automated manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systems.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation of manufacturing equipment and interpret drawings and assembly instructions.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical faults.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions; replace defective components.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and collaborate with production teams for safe operation.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards including LOTO.
• Document maintenance records, report recurring issues, and support spare parts inventory management.

Job Description

The Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, machinery, tooling, and production systems. This role supports plant operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining safe and efficient manufacturing processes.
