Job summary

Randstad Group in Peterlee is hiring an Assembly Operative to support a 24-month fixed-term contract with a 36.5-hour week. The role focuses on precise assembly, quality checks and adherence to safety procedures. Training and development opportunities are provided within a fast-paced production environment.

Working across day, afternoon and night shifts with hourly rates and regular bonuses, you will play a key role in meeting daily targets while maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

Assembly Operative - Peterlee

Role Overview

As an Assembly Operative, you will be a key player in our production process, ensuring that our products are assembled to the highest standards. This is a 24-month fixed-term contract running until November 2027, offering a consistent schedule of 36.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and products following detailed work instructions.
• Operate air and battery-powered tools, including torque wrenches, to complete assembly tasks.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections to ensure all output meets company standards.
• Always maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Proactively report any defects or production issues to the line leader.
• Work collaboratively to ensure daily production targets are consistently achieved.

Competitive Pay:

Day shift: £17.70 - £20.33 per hour

Afternoon shift: £21.24 - £24.40 per hour

Night shift: £23.90 - £27.45 per hour

Shift Patterns

Day shift: Mon-Thu 08:00-16:00, Fri 08:00-12:30

Back-shift: Mon-Thu 16:00-00:00, Fri 12:30-17:00

Night shift: Mon-Thu 00:00-08:00, Fri 17:00-21:30

Bonuses: Monthly attendance bonus and monthly truck bonuses.

Overtime: Frequent opportunities available; paid at time and a half (Monday-Saturday) and double time on Sundays.
