Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking an Assembly & Test Technician for our High Wycombe manufacturing team. The role focuses on hands‑on electro‑mechanical assembly, testing and fault diagnosis for small, precision assemblies.

The candidate will work with transducers, load cells and related fixtures, using engineering drawings and test specifications to ensure high quality workmanship in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in electro‑mechanical or electronic assembly and testing.
• Experience assembling/disassembling electro‑mechanical components.
• Strong fine wiring and soldering skills.
• Experience using basic electronic test equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults to component or module level.
• Strong ability to read and understand engineering, assembly and manufacturing drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test transducers, load cells and extensometers using drawings, procedures and test specs.
• Assemble and test load strings, test fixtures and jigs.
• Carry out electronic testing and fault diagnosis to component/module level.
• Identify and report faults using quality and non‑conformance procedures.
• Inspect and pack customer orders in line with procedures.
• Read and interpret engineering, assembly and manufacturing drawings.

The Role

An established engineering and manufacturing business is looking for an Assembly & Test Technician to join its manufacturing team in High Wycombe.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with an electro‑mechanical, electronics assembly, fine wiring, soldering or test engineering background who has strong attention to detail and enjoys fault‑finding and working with small, precision assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and test transducers, load cells and extensometers using engineering drawings, assembly procedures and test specifications.
• Assemble and test associated load strings, test fixtures and jigs.
• Carry out electronic testing and fault diagnosis to component/module level.
• Identify and report faults using appropriate quality and non‑conformance procedures.
• Inspect and pack customer orders in line with established procedures.
• Read and interpret engineering, assembly and manufacturing drawings.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in electro‑mechanical or electronic assembly and testing.
• Experience assembling and disassembling electro‑mechanical components.
• Strong fine wiring and soldering skills.
• Experience using basic electronic test equipment.
