Job description

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Assembly Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and be capable of performing assembly, testing, and quality assurance tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  1. Assemble parts according to process sheets and print instructions.
  2. Perform electrical, mechanical, magnetic testing such as dielectric, megger, and hipot tests.
  3. Conduct in-process hi-pot testing and set up fixtures.
  4. Perform vapor blasting and manage inventory counts and verification.
  5. Assist with prototype or first-time builds under supervision.
  6. Support engineering in developing and improving layout procedures and process sheets.
  7. Review material expiration dates to ensure current materials and equipment.
  8. Proactively seek ways to improve efficiency and product quality; maintain good housekeeping.
  9. Use proper PPE and safety procedures at all times.
  10. Cross-train team members as needed.
  11. Complete all labor tracking documentation accurately.
  12. Report issues to the appropriate resource or coach.
  13. Communicate effectively with team members about operations and issues.
  14. Participate in and support team initiatives and adhere to GE Leadership behaviors.
  15. Perform other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in assembly, soldering, and electronics manufacturing.
  • Comfort working with chemicals and gases.
  • Experience in self-directed team environments.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing.
Physical Demands:
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, squatting, climbing, and balancing.
  • Sitting for extended periods; lifting up to 20 lbs; pushing/pulling up to 22 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits:

The position offers $18/hour plus potential bonuses. Benefits include health coverage, retirement plans, tuition and adoption assistance, paid leave, and more.
