Milk Education are currently working with a fantastic secondary school in Newcastle Upon Tyne, seeking a confident, enthusiastic and committed Unqualified Teacher to join their staff on a full-time basis.

The role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, tutors, or individuals with experience working with children and young people who want to develop classroom experience in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Recent experience working with children or young people within the last two years.
• Experience with SEND/SEMH desirable.
• Passion for education and helping children reach their potential.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence leading groups of pupils.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Professional, reliable, patient and adaptable.
• Confidence managing behaviour and maintaining boundaries.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and activities across different subject areas.
• Support pupils to remain engaged, focused and on task.
• Maintain a positive, safe and productive classroom environment.
• Support pupils to complete set work and achieve lesson objectives.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Encourage engagement, participation, confidence and achievement.
• Provide support to pupils with additional needs and SEMH.
• Adapt approach to meet individual needs.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and engagement.
• Promote inclusion, equality and respect throughout the school.
• Support the wider school community when required.
