Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in the Southampton area. This role offers steady, term-time hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM) with a clear path to teaching avenues such as PGCE or SCITT.

You will supervise classes, deliver prepared work, and help maintain a positive, focused learning environment. Ideal for recent graduates and aspiring teachers, the role provides hands-on experience in a diverse range of Hampshire schools, with weekly pay and ongoing support

Qualifications

Education: Degree level or higher education qualification. Recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply!
Experience: Practical experience working with young people, such as tutoring, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, or volunteering.
Skills: Confidence, strong communication abilities, resilience, and a positive, proactive attitude.
Requirements: An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for a new one).

Responsibilities

Supervise secondary school students (Key Stages 3 & 4) across various subjects during teacher absences.
Maintain a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment where students feel supported.
Deliver prepared work set by the department and ensure students stay on task.
Collect completed work and provide constructive feedback on student progress and behaviour.
Uphold school policies regarding behaviour management and safeguarding at all times.
