Job summary

Hillingdon Manor School is seeking an enthusiastic Unqualified Teacher to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs in a specialist setting. You will deliver engaging lessons, build relationships and help pupils grow in confidence, resilience and independence.

Working with experienced teachers, therapists and a multidisciplinary team, you’ll gain valuable teaching experience in a supportive environment, with personalised learning and small class sizes to foster creativity

Qualifications

• Previous classroom teaching experience within an SEN setting.
• Good understanding of Special Educational Needs and neurodivergent learners.
• Passion for pursuing a career in teaching and making a lasting difference.
• Ability to deliver engaging, creative learning that inspires pupils to achieve their full potential.
• Patient and resilient with ability to build strong relationships.
• Works confidently both independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons and small-group learning tailored to pupils with additional needs.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning, adapting lessons to meet EHCP outcomes.
• Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to learn.
• Monitor progress, celebrate achievement and use assessment to support continued development.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that help pupils develop confidence, emotional resilience and independence.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, schemes of work and innovative learning experiences.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, holistic support.
• Participate in EHCP reviews, meetings and professional development while maintaining accurate records and safeguarding standards.
