Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready for the next step.
• Passion for quality ingredients and well-executed food.
• Experience in a quality restaurant, gastropub or fresh-food kitchen.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead a team through service.
• Understanding of kitchen costs, stock control and food safety.
• Ambition to progress towards a Head Chef role.
• Willingness to grow and contribute to a future-facing business.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Lead services and ensure food is delivered to a consistently high standard.
• Work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and quality British produce.
• Maintain strong preparation, organisation and kitchen discipline.
• Assist with menu development, specials and seasonal changes.
• Train and develop junior chefs, helping them improve their skills.
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and allergen standards.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and GP management and minimising waste.
• Take ownership of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Help prepare the business for future growth and progression opportunities.
