Job summary

Dachser Se is seeking a Trainee Customs Declarant in Dartford for a permanent, full-time position. You will work Monday to Friday with standard hours and handle consignments through HMRC software, ensuring accurate customs declarations and compliance with procedures.

The role emphasizes learning and developing expertise in customs clearance, data accuracy, and customer liaison within a global logistics provider.

Qualifications

Confident with computer software and data entry.

Responsibilities

Liaise with customers to obtain clearance instructions and information for customs declarations.
Review customer documentation to ensure required data is present (EORI, tariff info, licences).
Submit customs declarations to HMRC using the proper software.
Submit transit declarations to HMRC using the appropriate tools.
Resolve rejected entries by coordinating with the team.
Communicate issues to supervisors and keep the team informed.
Verify accuracy of entries and comply with SOPs for Customs and AEO processes.
Engage with UK Export Customs Manager and authorities as needed.
Stay knowledgeable on topics impacting the customs department.
