Job summary

Breedon Group plc in Carlisle is seeking an Asphalt Plant Operator to join the Operations and Maintenance team. You will batch asphalt, perform general plant maintenance, and help ensure the site operates safely, efficiently and in compliance with quality standards.

Reporting to the Asphalt Plant Manager, the role may involve night work, operating loading shovel and weighbridge, and supporting day-to-day site activities while promoting a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in asphalt plants is beneficial.
• Positive attitude towards health and safety.
• Flexibility and adaptability in approach.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure.
• Night work may be required.

Responsibilities

Position Overview: We're seeking an Asphalt Plant Operator to become an integral part of our team at Carlisle. Reporting to the Asphalt Plant Manager, this role is key to our operations, focusing on batching asphalt, performing general maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of our asphalt plant in line with our safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Batch asphalt and conduct general maintenance of the asphalt plant.
• Operate a loading shovel and weighbridge, adhering to safety and operational procedures.
• Assist with the overall day-to-day operations of the site, promoting our safety culture.
• Operate systems according to established procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Previous experience within an asphalt plant is beneficial.
• A positive attitude towards health and safety.

• Ability to remain composed under pressure.
• Please note: This role may require some night working.
