Job summary

East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust in Canterbury is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer to support the Aseptic Unit, dispensing and preparing aseptic chemotherapy products for patients across three hospital sites and the mobile unit.

The role involves working in cleanrooms, following GMP, training colleagues, maintaining documentation, and assisting with stock control and workload management to ensure timely patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in aseptic environment preferred.
• Able to follow procedures and GMP guidance.
• Willingness to train others and support junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Dispense stock products to patients using the CMM system.
• Assemble and prepare aseptic products under supervision.
• Train future colleagues and Pre-Registration Pharmacists under supervision.
• Clean and monitor isolators and cleanrooms and document work.
• Undertake transfer disinfection of items into aseptic rooms and maintain validations.
• Attend courses and training to develop aseptic skills.
• Contribute to quality development and service improvement.
• Unpack deliveries and participate in stock control and counting.
• Help manage workload according to patient priority.
• Maintain documentation and distribute finished treatments to correct destinations.
• Answer the hatch and phone to visitors and other Health Care staff.
