At Remedy, we are seeking a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism in a secondary school in South East London. The successful candidate will assist the classroom teacher and supervise students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to build rapport and foster positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting students with ASD.
  • Empathy, compassion, and resilience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • DBS clearance (preferably on the update service).
