Job description

ASD Teaching Assistant – Hanwell | Primary School

A mainstream primary school in Hanwell is looking for an ASD Teaching Assistant to provide additional support for pupils with autism.

The focus of this role is helping children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) feel confident, settled and able to participate fully in classroom learning. You’ll provide individual and small group support, adapting your approach to each pupil’s communication, sensory and learning needs.

You may use visual resources, structured activities and clear routines to support understanding and engagement, while helping pupils develop their communication, social skills and independence.

The school would particularly like to hear from Teaching Assistants who already have experience supporting children with autism or other Special Educational Needs (SEN). A patient, consistent approach and the ability to build trusting relationships with children are essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who wants to develop their autism support experience within a mainstream primary school.

Ethos Education Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo a thorough vetting procedure, including an enhanced DBS check.
