Job summary

Ribbons & Reeves are seeking a Primary-trained Teacher to join a specialist ASD/SEN secondary provision in Thurrock. You will teach a small, secondary-aged class using your primary teaching skills to deliver a broad curriculum with flexibility and high expectations.

The role focuses on pupils with ASD and additional needs, building communication, independence, confidence and social skills while maintaining structure and consistency across subjects.

Qualifications

• QTS with a Primary teaching background.
• Experience teaching across the Primary curriculum.
• Genuine interest in ASD/SEN pupils.
• Strong differentiation and classroom management.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Willing to teach across multiple subjects.
• SEN experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach a small secondary-aged class using your Primary teaching experience to deliver a broad curriculum.
• Adapt learning for pupils with ASD and additional needs.
• Support pupils to develop communication, independence, confidence and social skills.
• Maintain high expectations while providing structure and boundaries.
• Build strong relationships and understand individual behaviour.
