Job summary

Chiltern Way Academy Wendover seeks a caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils with ASC/SEMH aged 11-19, helping them engage in learning and everyday activities. You will work closely with teachers to support individual and small-group progress and foster a calm, inclusive classroom.

This role requires patience, flexibility and a collaborative spirit, with GCSEs and a willingness to develop in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Patient, flexible and enthusiastic.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• GCSE English & Maths (A-C) and ideally NVQ Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering learning activities.
• Work with individuals and small groups to help them progress.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
• Help create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Assist with basic planning, preparation and classroom organisation.
