Job summary

SEND Learning Support Assistant (1:1) in Paulton is seeking a dedicated assistant to provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with ASC, aiding learning, emotional regulation and social development.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and create a safe, engaging, inclusive learning environment. The role is full-time with a start ASAP or in September, paying £90-£100 per day.

Qualifications

• Term-time, Mon–Fri, 8:30–15:30.
• Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship.
• DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

The Role

• Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with ASC

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience supporting children with SEND/ASC is desirable, but not essential
• Candidates with transferable skills (e.g. care work, youth work, coaching, or personal experience supporting individuals with additional needs) are strongly encouraged to apply
• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable in approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Full UK driving licence required due to limited public transport access

Essential Criteria

• Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30
• Right to work in the UK - we CANNOT accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa
• Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years
• Up-to-date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one*

*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.

Pay

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
