About the role:

Are you looking to start a career in the Environmental Science industry? Are you a graduate with a science-based degree? Your main responsibilities will include managing and delivering the workflow of asbestos samples for preparation and analysis via Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), reporting, and assisting in weekly laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform laboratory duties, including sample preparation and analysis adhering to strict standards.
  2. Set up and operate microscopes or SEM for analysis.
  3. Enter data results accurately.
  4. Write and formulate asbestos analysis reports.
  5. Ensure laboratory efficiency and output.
  6. Maintain laboratory cleanliness and stock levels.

Requirements:

  • Experience with microscopes or SEM is essential.
  • Experience in a UKAS accredited lab is preferred but training can be provided.
  • Qualifications: A-levels or HND or Degree in a science discipline.
  • Ability to manage workload, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, with excellent eyesight, calm, patient, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and team collaboration skills.
