Thames Laboratories in Cambridge is offering a Science Apprenticeship - Asbestos L3. This trainee laboratory technician role focuses on identifying asbestos in samples using established procedures, with training toward the RSPh Level 3 Award in Asbestos Bulk Analysis.

The apprenticeship runs 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a starting salary of £21,500 per year and 31 days leave. Access to a car is required due to the role's location.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify asbestos presence in samples following procedures.
• Input sample data and analysis into the internal system.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and tidiness.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment.
• Assist in regular inspections to maintain UKAS accreditations.
• Follow health and safety regulations.
• Check reports for technical accuracy before sending.
• Liaise with site staff to resolve report queries.
