Job summary

PA Group UK, a Dartford-based asbestos testing contractor, is hiring a full-time Asbestos Lab Analyst and Quality Checker. You will log and prepare samples, perform fibre analysis, report findings, and help with general lab tasks while ensuring proper storage and QA of survey reports.

A driving licence and IT skills are required; P401 is essential. Salary starts above £27,000 and grows with experience; benefits include a pension, life assurance, private health care options, and career

Qualifications

Job description

Asbestos Lab Analyst and Quality Checker - Full-time, Permanent

The PA Group UK are a multidisciplinary, health and safety executive licensed asbestos removal and UKAS-accredited asbestos inspection and testing contractor based in Dartford, UK.

Main responsibilities/duties:
  • Receiving and appropriately logging samples received by the laboratory.
  • Preparing samples for analysis.
  • Carrying out analysis of samples for fibre content.
  • Reporting analytical findings.
  • Ensuring appropriate storage and retention of samples.
  • Generating certificates of analysis and issuing to clients, and getting involved with other general laboratory and administrative duties.
  • Quality checking asbestos survey reports.
Person Specification:
  • The applicant must have attained the P401 qualification and, at the same time, must have significant experience working within this role in a laboratory/office environment and within the asbestos field. Awareness of the requirements of the second edition of HSG248 is desirable.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have good organisational and IT skills.
  • Must have a full UK driving licence and vehicle due to location, or alternative means of transport.
  • Experience in quality checking of asbestos survey reports is desirable but full training can also be provided.
