Job summary

Braxfield Recruitment is assisting a North London local authority to recruit an interim Compliance & Asbestos Surveyor. The role is hybrid with site visits and focuses on asbestos within domestic housing stock.

Contract length is 6–12 months, with daily umbrella pay of £350–£375. You'll survey, validate records, raise defects and coordinate with contractors and residents to ensure regulatory compliance across housing stock.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an asbestos or compliance surveyor, ideally in social housing or a local authority.
• Recognised asbestos qualification (e.g. BOHS P402 or equivalent).
• Good knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations and building safety rules.
• Able to travel across boroughs; full UK driving licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out surveys and inspections across the council's housing stock, focusing on asbestos.
• Inspect and sign off works across fire, water, electrical, gas and lifts.
• Quality-check contractor works and ensure compliance with regulations.
