Job summary

Riverside Environmental Services is seeking an Asbestos Bulk Analyst to join the laboratory team. The role covers UK-wide projects with locations in Birmingham, Watford or Dartford, focusing on bulk sample analysis and accurate reporting in a UKAS-accredited environment.

You will identify asbestos-containing materials, prepare detailed analytical reports and ensure compliance with HSG248 guidance while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BOHS P401 qualification (Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples).
• Experience working within an asbestos laboratory environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT and report-writing skills.
• Understanding of UKAS standards and asbestos regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyse asbestos bulk samples using approved laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Accurately identify asbestos-containing materials and produce detailed analytical reports.
• Ensure all laboratory work is completed in accordance with UKAS requirements and HSG248 guidance.
• Maintain accurate records and laboratory documentation.
• Support quality control processes and participate in internal audits where required.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring a clean, safe working environment.
• Prioritise workloads to meet client deadlines and business requirements.
• Work collaboratively with surveyors, analysts and the wider operational team.
