Job summary

Socotec UK & Ireland is seeking an Asbestos Analyst to join our Environment & Safety Division. You will identify, monitor and analyse asbestos to safeguard buildings and occupants across diverse sectors, delivering high-quality surveys, air monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications

• Must hold BOHS P403 and P404 qualifications (or RSPH Level 3 in Asbestos Air Monitoring).
• Industry experience essential with proven track record of conducting a similar role.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good client-facing skills – liaising with contractors, project managers and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection/report writing.
• Time management and ability to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• You’ll carry out testing, inspection and reporting to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with Socotec quality procedures and Health & Safety guidelines.
• Conduct asbestos surveys, air sampling, fibre counting, and four-stage clearance tests.
• Maintaining and calibrating equipment, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
• Recording and issuing accurate analytical reports.
• Liaising with clients, project managers and internal teams to deliver work to agreed timescales.
• Identifying opportunities to support Socotec’s wider services.
