Job summary

Manchester City Council is seeking an experienced manager to lead the Anti Social Behaviour Team, guiding ASB officers across the City. You will work with partners to tackle ASB in public spaces, safeguard vulnerable residents, and reduce rough sleeping in collaboration with the Homelessness Service.

You will drive face-to-face engagement, coordinate with GMP and other agencies, and manage a rota covering weekdays and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Experience using informal and formal ASB powers to stop anti-social behaviour and protect the public.
• Knowledge of homelessness legislation and unauthorised encampments.
• Proven ability to build positive working relationships with partners.
• Ability to lead, guide and coach team members to meet complex challenges.
• Ability to make fast, informed decisions and explain rationale.
• Experience designing training packages for the Community Safety Partnership.
• Knowledge of preparing cases for legal teams and instructing solicitors.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ASB Support Officers across the City and tackle public-space ASB.
• Work with the Homelessness Service to prevent rough sleeping and support vulnerable people.
• Lead face-to-face public engagement with partner agencies and GMP.
• Collaborate with GMP and other stakeholders to deliver effective community safety outcomes.
• Manage a rota pattern and commit to shift patterns including evenings and weekends.
