R&B Switchgear Services Ltd in the UK is seeking an Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Engineer (KTP Associate) to develop and embed advanced AI capabilities that transform how it interprets technical documentation and delivers engineering projects.
The project will create multimodal AI systems capable of reading drawings and text, providing explainable, secure AI deployment within regulated environments and improving estimation workflows.
This KTP will develop and embed advanced artificial intelligence capabilities that transform the way R&B Switchgear operates, interprets technical documentation and delivers engineering projects.
The project will create innovative AI systems capable of analysing complex engineering information across visual and text-based sources. These solutions will increase efficiency, improve consistency and streamline time-intensive engineering and operational activities.
By embedding AI technologies throughout the estimation workflow, R&B expects to significantly improve operational efficiency, increase capacity and establish a competitive advantage within the electrical engineering sector. The project will also create new organisational capabilities in artificial intelligence, data engineering, safe AI and digital automation.
This KTP will develop a secure, explainable AI system that automatically reads, interprets and converts SLDs and specifications into accurate Bills of Materials and costed quotations, automating the SLD-to-quotation process. The innovation lies in combining computer vision, natural language processing and large language models into a single multimodal reasoning engine that can understand drawings and text together, supported by explainability to show how engineering decisions were made and secure by design deployment appropriate for regulated sectors.
