Actual Salary £17,738 – £19,405 per annum based on part-time working hours
Contract: Part time, 1-year fixed term maternity cover

The Visual Arts Department at Leyton Sixth Form College is a busy and well-established departmentcomprisinga team of specialist teachers and technicians with a broad range of creative and technicalexpertise. The department delivers a diverse curriculum across A-Levels in multiple art and design subjects and UAL Level 2, 3, and foundationprovision, supporting students working inFineArt,GraphicDesign,Photography,Textiles andFashion, 3DDesign, and multidisciplinary art and design practice.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative technician team responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation,organisationand maintenance of a wide range of specialist teaching and workshop facilities. These include wood and plastics workshop spaces, photography studios and darkroom facilities, printmaking equipment, ceramics facilities, and fashion and textiles resources. Equipment within the department includes laser cutters, bandsaws, circular sanders, sewing machines, heat presses, etchingpressesand kilns, alongside a wide range of hand tools, digitalequipmentand art materials.
The role would particularly suit applicants with practical making skills, an interest in art and design processes, and confidence working within creative workshop or studio environments. While experience across all specialist areas is not expected, applicants should be willing to develop technical knowledge and work flexibly across different areas of the department. Familiarity with workshop tools,equipmentand relevant digital software, including Adobe Creative Suite, would beadvantageous.
