The role: The Art Technician is responsible for providing a safe and inspiring learning environment for the pupils. You will be on hand to advise and assist pupils, prepare materials and maintain equipment whilst ensuring resources for lessons are laid out and made available. Any afternoon work will involve helping in our extra-curricular clubs advising and giving practical guidance whilst ensuring a safe working environment. The skills: You will have a keen interest in art, with a broad general knowledge of a range of art techniques and trends.You will use your creativity and expertise to inspire and support the boys classroom and project work. Your excellent organisation skills and eye for detail will enable you to maintain stock, ensure careful use of chemicals and machinery, and maintain high health and safety standards. Your approachability and good interpersonal skills will help you build strong professional relationships with staff and pupils.

The environment:Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 835boys study at Harrow and live in the Schools 12 boarding houses.The Art and Design Schools comprise six large studio spaces with specialist areas for painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, stone-carving, photography, laser-cutting, foundry, welding, engraving, woodwork and 3D printing, as well as several Apple Mac digital media suites. Many Harrovians use our facilities on a regular basis: artists preparing for examinations are joined by those who like to work for personal pleasure, as well as Beaks who make time to continue their practice.
