Job summary

Aspire People Limited in Cardiff is seeking an Art Technician to support a busy secondary school. Immediate start, full-time, long-term position.

You will prepare, organise and maintain art materials, tools and equipment for lessons, assist teachers with practical activities and help display pupils' artwork. This role emphasises health and safety in workshops, stock control, and contributing to exhibitions and school events.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a school, college, art department, or creative environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of art materials, equipment, and classroom safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is desirable or willingness to register.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organise, and maintain art materials, tools, and equipment for lessons.
• Support teachers with practical classroom activities and demonstrations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised Art department environment.
• Assist with mounting, displaying, and storing pupils' artwork.
• Monitor stock levels and order materials when required.

• Support the preparation of exhibitions, displays, and school events.
• Carry out basic maintenance of specialist art equipment and resources.

Are you creative, organised, and passionate about supporting the delivery of Art within a secondary school setting? Aspire People are currently recruiting for an Art Technician to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Cardiff with an immediate start available.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a busy Art department, helping teachers deliver engaging practical lessons while ensuring resources, equipment, and displays are prepared to a high standard.

The Role
