Job description

A creative and inclusive secondary school in Bristol is looking to appoint an imaginative and skilled Art Teacher to join its well-established Art and Design department in September. The school is known for its dynamic approach to teaching and learning and its commitment to the arts as a core part of the curriculum.

This Art Teacher role is perfect for someone passionate about helping students express themselves creatively through various artistic media. The department is equipped with modern facilities including a ceramics studio, a digital suite, and dedicated exhibition space.

As an Art Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Art across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 available for the right candidate)

  • Develop lessons that explore a range of techniques and global artistic traditions

  • Encourage critical thinking, personal expression, and collaborative projects

  • Support students in preparing portfolios and exhibitions

  • Plan and lead art-related trips and workshops

  • Contribute to school-wide creative initiatives and cultural events

  • Work closely with colleagues in the wider Creative Arts faculty

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Art, Fine Art, or a related discipline

  • UK QTS or PGCE in Secondary Art

  • A deep understanding of both traditional and contemporary art practices

  • A track record of inspiring creativity in young people
