Job description

Art Director - Conceptual & Content Design (Music & Subscription Services)

Contract Duration: 6 months (Apply online only).
IR35 Status: Inside IR35.
Rate: Approx 100k equivalent (Umbrella).
Location: London Hybrid - 3 days per week in Central London.

Role Overview

This conceptual Art Director will develop global editorial content within a team. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for music and a thorough understanding of music visual culture. Responsibilities include maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring high-quality work, and bringing creative concepts to life. The role involves developing innovative ideas, articulating these ideas effectively, and ensuring alignment across teams to deliver compelling design in the music and product space.

Key Experience & Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience as an Art Director / Senior Art Director in Content & Product Design.
  • Experience in music-related or subscription media D2C products/services, preferably from a smaller specialist agency background, with motion design skills.
  • Strong love for music and understanding of music visual culture.
  • Ability to present and articulate design rationale persuasively.
  • Proficiency in design from concept to implementation, with typographic, graphic, and motion design skills.
  • Experience managing multiple creative campaigns simultaneously.
  • Deep knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and motion graphics.
  • Ability to tell engaging stories across platforms, especially for subscription services related to music.
  • Strong research skills into music genres and cultures.
  • Excellent cross-functional relationship building skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Understanding of digital asset management and collaborative workflows.
  • Experience working with and scaling brands, developing content strategies is a plus.
  • Proven track record creating compelling campaign creative for marketing or editorial.
  • Proficiency in digital, social, and on-product design, adhering to top-tier standards.
  • Experience delivering big ideas for subscription businesses is advantageous.
  • International experience or working with global teams, including designing for multiple cultures and languages, is ideal.
  • Experience collaborating directly with talent and creators on campaigns.
