Job summary

Levenshulme High School is seeking a proactive Art, Design & Technology Technician to support staff and students across the Art, Photography, Resistant Materials, Food and Textiles faculties. You will prepare materials for lessons and exams, maintain spaces and equipment, and assist with displays and enrichment activities.

Qualifications

  • Practical, reliable and adaptable, you will be confident following instructions, preparing materials and using specialist equipment safely and effectively.
  • An awareness of health and safety requirements, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities will be essential to your success in this role.
  • You will have a good understanding of Art, Design & Technology, particularly Food and Textiles, or the enthusiasm and aptitude to develop your knowledge through training.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare resources, equipment and materials for lessons and practical examinations.
  • Support stock management and ensure classrooms and technical spaces are well equipped and safe.
  • Maintain equipment inventories and coordinate repairs and servicing.
  • Assist with displays and enrichment activities and support student welfare duties and exam invigilation.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote a positive learning environment.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and organised Art, Design & Technology Technician to provide comprehensive support across our vibrant Art, Design & Technology Faculty. Working alongside teaching staff, you will play a vital role in preparing resources, equipment and materials for lessons and practical examinations, helping to create engaging learning experiences for students across Art, Photography, Resistant Materials, Food and Textiles. You will ensure classrooms and technical spaces are safe, well maintained and fully equipped, while supporting curriculum delivery through effective preparation, stock management and practical assistance. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will maintain equipment inventories, coordinate repairs and servicing, assist with displays and enrichment activities, and contribute to the wider life of the school through student welfare duties, first aid responsibilities and exam invigilation.
