Job summary

Hertswood Academy in Borehamwood seeks an Art & Design Technology Technician to support creative departments. You will prepare equipment, manage stock, and keep studios safe and organized for students.

Under the Head of Faculty, you will assist teaching staff during practical classes and help non-specialist cover teachers with resources and photocopying. A proactive, safety‑minded team player is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE level including English and Maths (grade C/4 or above).
• Level 2 CIEH Certificate in Food Handling (or willing to obtain).
• Experience maintaining equipment and handling materials in Food/Textiles/Art.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, materials, and resource packs across Food, Textiles, and Art.
• Maintain spaces, tools, machinery, and software per Health & Safety regulations and conduct safety checks.
• Carry out day-to-day maintenance, stock checks, and inventory control for studio facilities.
• Assist teaching staff and students during practical sessions and support cover teachers.
