Job summary

You will prepare materials, set up workspaces, maintain studios and help ensure safe, well-organised spaces for teaching, learning and student exhibitions. The position offers a permanent, full-time contract with generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or above in Art, Fine Art, Art and Design, Visual Arts or a related subject; or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Practical experience in an art, design, studio or workshop environment.
• A good understanding of art materials, tools, equipment and creative processes.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage resources effectively.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to support staff and students.
• A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• An understanding of health and safety, including the safe use of tools and materials.
• A creative mindset and enthusiasm for supporting students to develop their artistic skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare art materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons and workshops.
• Support staff and students with creative projects across art and visual arts.
• Set up and maintain studios, workshops and specialist learning spaces.
• Assist with the safe use of art equipment, materials and practical processes.
• Monitor stock levels, order supplies and maintain organised storage areas.
• Carry out routine cleaning, maintenance and checks of equipment and workspaces.
• Support student exhibitions, displays, creative projects and College events.
• Help maintain a safe, tidy and inspiring environment for creative learning.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including the safe handling and storage of materials.
