Job summary

Tyne Metropolitan College is seeking an Art & Design Lecturer to deliver engaging lessons across multiple disciplines and support learners in developing creative and technical skills. The role is 19.5 hours per week and temporary until the end of the academic year, with recruitment carried out in partnership with The Supply Register.

The successful applicant will contribute to the Professional and Creative Studies team, fostering progression into higher education, industry, and creative careers.

About the Role

As an Art & Design Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across a range of disciplines, which may include: 3D Design Painting and Drawing Illustration Fashion Photography Fine Art Printmaking Digital and traditional creative processes You will support learners to develop their creative and technical skills, achieve their full potential and prepare for progression into higher education, industry and creative careers.

Qualifications & Experience

• A degree or relevant professional qualification in Art & Design
• A recognised teaching qualification
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent
• Successful teaching and/or relevant vocational or industry experience
• Strong industry links and employer contacts
• Experience of teaching at Higher Education level, embedding English and Maths within the curriculum, preparing learners for industry briefs, or showcasing learners' work would also be desirable.
