Job summary

West Midlands Police is recruiting experienced Armed Response Vehicle Officers for the February 2027 Transferee intake. You will join a 24/7 ARV team based near Birmingham City Centre, serving in one of Europe’s diverse policing environments.

The role provides development opportunities toward CTSFO and other leadership positions. Applicants must meet Home Office Force eligibility, hold ARV/SFO/CTSFO credentials or equivalent, and pass vetting, medical checks, and fitness tests.

Qualifications

• Be an serving (or have served) with a Home Office Force.
• Be an Armed Response Vehicle Officer, Specialist Firearms Officer or CTSFO or trained to National ARV Role Profile Standard.
• Pass the 15-metre JRFT to bleep level 9.4 to 10.5 and provide auditable training records.

• Join a 24/7 Armed Response Vehicle team near Birmingham City Centre.
• Support force tactical priorities including serious organised crime and volume crime.
