Job summary

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is recruiting for Police Constables to protect nuclear sites, facilities and materials. You will patrol with an armed response, work with local and Home Office forces, and train to maintain peak fitness and readiness.

Starting salary is £32,256, rising to £33,609 after 2 years, plus a £5,000 annual location allowance and a generous pension. Includes paid leave, cycle to work and other wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years old and have a full manual driving licence.
• Training includes a 19-week residential Initial Foundation Programme (IFP) with firearms training.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 armed response and patrol nuclear sites, facilities and materials.
• Engage with local communities and work with Home Office forces as part of wider policing operations.
• Attend specialist roles after probation, such as Dog Handler, Special Branch or Firearms Instructor.
