Job summary

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is a dedicated armed police service protecting the civil nuclear industry and critical national infrastructure. Officers patrol 24/7, including nuclear sites, and undergo 19-week Initial Foundation Programme with comprehensive firearms training.

After a 2-year probation, opportunities exist in areas like Dog Handling, Special Branch or Strategic Escort Group. Applicants must be 18+ with a full manual driving licence.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years old and have a full manual driving licence.
• Initial Foundation Programme (IFP) includes world-class firearms training; no prior policing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 armed response as part of a highly trained team.
• Patrol nuclear sites, facilities and materials, and support local communities.
• Work with local Home Office Police Forces and other specialist units.
• Commit to ongoing fitness training during working hours.
