Job summary

Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Nurse to join the All-Age Eating Disorder Service (AAEDS). You will provide leadership, support, and expert guidance to the team, delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.

As part of the ARFID Pathway, you will carry out clinical assessments, support diagnoses, collaborate with GPs, and help reduce unnecessary inpatient stays while upholding Trust governance and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct specialist assessments and support the diagnostic process for individuals with eating disorders, including ARFID.
• Collaborative Working: Partner closely with GPs to promote early referrals and diagnosis, while working alongside Trust colleagues, individuals, and families across professional boundaries to continuously enhance our service delivery.
• Team Leadership & Workload Management: Efficiently organize, prioritize, and coordinate your own and team members' workloads to maintain high standards of patient care.
• Effective Communication: Establish clear, open, and consistent communication channels across teams, ensuring service users, families, and staff receive accurate and accessible information.
• Risk Management & Safety: Proactively manage risks at the team level by carrying out risk assessments, completing incident reports, and escalating residual risks to the Trust register.
• Governance & Standards: Maintain accurate clinical and audit records while adhering strictly to Trust protocols, procedures, and quality standards.
