Job summary

Sureserve Group seeks a gas qualified area supervisor to join our busy heating service and repair team. You will lead engineers, oversee surveys and installations, and ensure all work meets regulatory standards and client needs. This role requires NVQ2/3 heating, CCN1/CENWAT, and a full UK driving licence.

You will work from our regional office with a 40-hour week and on-call duties as required. The successful candidate will contribute to safety, training, and excellent service delivery across

Qualifications

• Possess NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation or equivalent.
• ACS accreditations CCN1 and CENWAT or equivalent.
• Experience in heating system surveys or domestic installation projects.
• Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with able to deliver accurate survey reports.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Manage operatives and provide technical support and training.
• Lead toolbox talks and share updates consistently.
• Promote quality of work and professional attitudes.
• Act as primary client contact for resolving issues and site visits.
• Ensure contractual requirements are met and sometimes exceeded.
• Communicate procedures to operatives via toolbox talks.
• Support training and induction for new engineers.
• Coordinate with SHEQ Head on competency records and updates.
• Ensure engineers work within their competencies.
• Carry out quality checks and health and safety audits.
• Cover the Regional Manager role when required.
• Assist investigations related to disciplinary matters.

We are seeking a gas qualified area supervisor to join our busy heating service & repair team

Overview of Role:

This role is a pivotal role that contributes to the delivery of efficient and effective heating system surveys and installations for our clients. The individual will be the driving force in conducting in-depth assessments of domestic properties, ensuring all heating solutions recommended meet regulatory standards and align with the customer's needs and budget considerations. The role demands a combination of technical expertise, customer service, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dealing with the day-to-day operational management of operatives and providing technical support, encouragement, and training for all engineers to deliver an agreed volume of completed jobs per week, including whilst engineers are on call.
• Provide a \"Technical Section\" during the structured monthly toolbox talk meeting in a consistent manor across the business. This includes all the latest updates and any issues identified in completed quality checks.
• Encourage understanding of the need for Quality of Work and professional attitudes for future development of the business, creating an environment which encourages employee development, good employee relations, teambuilding, and quality standards.
• Become a key contact for clients to assist in developing relations and assisting with the resolution of problematic jobs, attend, and facilitate the resolution of customer complaints, including site visits and provide a technical overview
• Ensure the Clients contractual and specific requirements are met, and where possible surpassed.
• Communicate Company procedures and Client requirements to operatives through daily contact and structured monthly Toolbox Talks.
• Support the Regional Manager & Head of Region with the training requirements and technical support for both existing engineers and the new starter induction and training processes.
• Work closely with the Head of SHEQ , act as a champion to the Sureserve Compliance Central Competency Scheme, to ensure updates and changes are communicated effectively to engineers, maintaining records, and identifying training needs.
• Ensure engineers actively participate in the collection of competence evidence and that each engineer is only allocated work which falls within their scope of competencies
• Carry out Quality Checks and Health and Safety audits to a pre-determined agreed target volume.
• Cover for the role of Regional Manager as and when required.
• Assist in the investigation processes associated with disciplinary and grievance situations.

Required Attributes:

• Relevant Industry Qualifications: Possess NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation or equivalent.
• ACS accreditations, including CCN1 and CENWAT or equivalent, are preferable.
• Experience: Demonstrable practical experience in heating system surveys or domestic installation projects.
• Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to deliver accurate and detailed survey reports.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Driving License: Full UK driving license is essential.

Working hours

• 5 days per week (Mon - Fri) 8am to 5pm - 40 hrs based out of our local office

1 hour for lunch daily, call out rota to go on doing evenings & weekend work.
