Job summary

Sureserve Compliance Central, part of the Sureserve Group, is seeking a gas qualified area supervisor to lead a busy heating service and repair team. The role focuses on delivering efficient surveys and installations for our clients, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with customer needs and budgets.

The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation, CCN1/CENWAT where possible, and a proven track record in heating system surveys.

Qualifications

• Relevant Industry Qualifications: Possess NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation or equivalent.
• ACS accreditations, including CCN1 and CENWAT or equivalent, are preferable.
• Experience: Demonstrable practical experience in heating system surveys or domestic installation projects.
• Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to deliver accurate and detailed survey reports.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Driving License: Full UK driving license is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational management of engineers and provide technical support, training, and guidance to deliver a set volume of completed jobs weekly.
• Lead monthly toolbox talks with a consistent approach across the business, sharing updates and quality findings.
• Champion quality of work and professional conduct to support business development and staff growth.
• Act as main client contact for relationship building and resolving complex or disputed jobs, including site visits and technical briefings.
• Ensure client contractual requirements are met and where possible exceeded.
• Communicate company procedures and client requirements to engineers through daily contact and toolbox talks.
• Assist Regional Manager with training needs and induction processes for new staff.
• Coordinate with SHEQ Head to update on competency schemes and train engineers accordingly.
• Ensure engineers collect and maintain competence evidence and assign work within competencies.
• Perform quality checks and health and safety audits to targeted volumes.
• Cover Regional Manager role when required and support investigations into disciplinary matters.

We are seeking a gas qualified area supervisor to join our busy heating service & repair team

Overview of Role

This role is a pivotal role that contributes to the delivery of efficient and effective heating system surveys and installations for our clients. The individual will be the driving force in conducting in-depth assessments of domestic properties, ensuring all heating solutions recommended meet regulatory standards and align with the customer's needs and budget considerations. The role demands a combination of technical expertise, customer service, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Dealing with the day-to-day operational management of operatives and providing technical support, encouragement, and training for all engineers to deliver an agreed volume of completed jobs per week, including whilst engineers are on call.
• Provide a “Technical Section” during the structured monthly toolbox talk meeting in a consistent manor across the business. This includes all the latest updates and any issues identified in completed quality checks.
• Encourage understanding of the need for Quality of Work and professional attitudes for future development of the business, creating an environment which encourages employee development, good employee relations, teambuilding, and quality standards.
• Become a key contact for clients to assist in developing relations and assisting with the resolution of problematic jobs, attend, and facilitate the resolution of customer complaints, including site visits and provide a technical overview
• Ensure the Clients contractual and specific requirements are met, and where possible surpassed.
• Communicate Company procedures and Client requirements to operatives through daily contact and structured monthly Toolbox Talks.
• Support the Regional Manager & Head of Region with the training requirements and technical support for both existing engineers and the new starter induction and training processes.
• Work closely with the Head of SHEQ , act as a champion to the Sureserve Compliance Central Competency Scheme, to ensure updates and changes are communicated effectively to engineers, maintaining records, and identifying training needs.
• Ensure engineers actively participate in the collection of competence evidence and that each engineer is only allocated work which falls within their scope of competencies
• Carry out Quality Checks and Health and Safety audits to a pre-determined agreed target volume.
• Cover for the role of Regional Manager as and when required.
• Assist in the investigation processes associated with disciplinary and grievance situations.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am till 5pm with 1 hour for lunch. Supervisors call out rota to go on with evening and weekend hours to cover on a rota basis.
