Job summary

SBFM is seeking an experienced Area Supervisor to lead field-based service delivery across multiple client sites in the South West region, including Devon and Cornwall. The role involves managing frontline teams, ensuring high standards and KPIs are met, and working with Account Managers to keep client satisfaction high.

You will travel regularly between client sites in the region, support new contract mobilisation, and uphold health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • IOSH Managing Safely is required or willingness to complete the training within 3 months of employment.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients at local level.
  • IT literate with ability to use MS Office and company systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction in line with KPIs.
  • Relationship management - build and maintain strong client relationships at local level.
  • Conduct regular audits and resolve issues to ensure cleaning standards and specifications are met.
  • Line management, inductions and training of frontline operatives.
  • Support mobilisation of new contracts through site visits, inductions and training.
  • Oversee health & safety compliance across all sites and ensure staff adhere to legislation and policies.
  • Conduct stock checks and manage ordering of cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Cover cleaning tasks as needed and utilise existing workforce.
  • Support or cover other Area Supervisors’ areas when required.
  • Ensure correct use of IT systems and maintain records of visits and communications.
  • Collaborate with Regional Operations Managers and Account Managers for smooth operations.
  • Respond to escalations from Operations Directors and management.
  • Identify risks or improvement opportunities and escalate to senior management.

As an Area Supervisor you will play an integral part in delivering and supporting the field-based elements of SBFM’s service provision.
For this role regular travel between sites within the following areas will be required; Devon, Cornwall

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction in line with agreed KPIs.
  • Relationship management - build and maintain strong client relationships at local level.
  • Conduct regular audits and resolve issues to ensure cleaning standards and specifications are consistently achieved.
  • Line management, support, inductions and training of frontline operatives.
  • Support the mobilisation of new contracts through tasks including (but not limited to) site visits, inductions, and training.
  • Oversee and manage health & safety compliance across all sites, ensuring all staff adhere to relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Conduct stock checks and follow agreed processes for ordering cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Cover cleaning, utilising existing workforce where available and completing site cleaning where necessary
  • Supporting or covering other Area Supervisors’ areas where required
  • Ensure correct use of IT systems and maintaining accurate records of visits, activities, and communications.
  • Collaborate effectively with Regional Operations Managers, Account Managers, and other colleagues to ensure smooth operations and consistent service delivery.
  • Respond promptly to ad hoc requests or escalations from Operations Directors, Regional Operations Managers, or other members of the management team.
  • Proactively identify and escalation concerns, risks, or improvement opportunities to senior management.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • Possess the IOSH Managing Safely qualification or be willing to complete the training with SBFM within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literate
  • A proactive approach and an excellent eye for detail, methodical and organised and able to work autonomously
  • Self-motivated, confident and an engaging approachable manner with a ‘can do’ flexible attitude to work requirements
  • Excellent client focus and a proven track record of service delivery in facilities management or contract cleaning environment
  • Team player and able to motivate others
  • A full, clean, driving licence and the willingness to travel in the UK to all client sites as required.
