Job Description:

Job Purpose

This is a key position, responsible for planned and reactive electrical maintenance within the depot. You will be the first point of contact for all maintenance issues throughout the depot. The role involves technical repairs and minor PPMs, ensuring all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up-to-date. All work must be performed to high standards, efficiently and cost-effectively, in compliance with the company’s health and safety policies.

Key Accountabilities

• Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales, ensuring all paperwork is completed.
• Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk, assess requirements, and carry out necessary repairs.
• Conduct emergency lighting tests and repairs.
• Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery, and inform the line manager promptly.
• Ensure compliance documentation is always completed and up-to-date.
• Inform the on-site manager of any repair or maintenance issues affecting site operations.
• Carry out surveys and complete reports as required.
• Adhere to all health and safety policies.
• Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota (1 week in every 4).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2, City and Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or equivalent.
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience with 3-phase electrics and their applications.
• Ability to achieve PPM schedules within deadlines.
• Respond effectively to service call requests within specified timescales.
• Valid full driving license and own vehicle required.
