Job description

The Vacancy

Location: South West (Exeter/Yeovil)

Salary: £38,377.01 per annum

Hours of Work: 40 hours/week, typically Monday – Friday (Flexibility required 24/7). You will be part of a call-out team to ensure 24/7 cover.

Job Purpose

This is a key position responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations. You will be the first point of contact for all maintenance issues at your assigned sites, with potential requirement to request specialist attendance after initial call-out.

The role involves technical repairs and PPMs, ensuring all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up-to-date. All work must be performed to high standards, efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with Health and Safety legislation.

Key Accountabilities

• Complete the PPM schedule within agreed timelines and ensure accurate paperwork.
• Respond promptly to service requests, assess needs, and carry out repairs.
• Prioritize maintenance and repair tasks to meet response times.
• Maintain fire alarm systems and conduct emergency lighting tests and repairs.
• Follow purchase order procedures.
• Identify non-repairable faults and advise the Line Manager with recommendations.
• Ensure compliance documentation is current.
• Inform site management of repair issues affecting operations.
• Conduct surveys and prepare reports as required.
• Carry out minor alterations and installations within technical competence.
• Perform general repairs and maintenance as designated.
• Attend training to stay updated with technical developments.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies.
• Represent the company professionally and foster good relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota.
• Maintain standards of quality and comply with instructions from management.
• Log material spending and handle purchasing responsibilities.

People Responsibility

Supervises AMT on technical works and PPM, maintains good relationships with colleagues and customers, with no direct reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
