Job summary

London Borough of Havering is recruiting for an Area SENCO within Havering's EYFS SEND Support Service. This Grade 6 role sits at £40,575–£44,184 per annum and will help strengthen inclusive practice across Early Years settings in Havering.

The post forms part of the Department for Education's Experts at Hand programme and includes flexible and hybrid working options, a tailored induction, and access to AI tools to support productivity and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• support Early Years settings to identify, assess and meet the needs of children with SEND
• provide advice, guidance, training and modelling of inclusive practice to setting-based SENCOs and practitioners
• support settings to embed evidence-informed interventions and strategies
• work with families and carers to help them understand and navigate SEND pathways
• support successful transition planning for children moving into school-based settings
• contribute to borough-wide workforce development and SEND improvement priorities
