Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking Relief Security Officers to support the DWP contract across Greater Manchester and Cheshire. You will cover for full-time colleagues during holidays, sickness and absences, with hours varying weekly.

Role requires a valid SIA licence, prior security experience and a UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle. Day shifts are typical, including some Saturdays and rare Sundays.

Relief Security Officer – DWP Contract (Cheshire)

Locations: Crewe, Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Wigan, Leigh & Surrounding Area's

Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour

Hours: 8 hours per week

Shifts: Day shifts, typically Monday–Saturday, with occasional Sunday work

Mitie is recruiting Relief Security Officers to support the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) contract across Greater Manchester & Cheshire. This is a great opportunity to join a large, established organisation.

As a Relief Officer, you will cover for full time colleagues during holidays, sickness, and last-minute absences, so weekly hours will vary depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol sites and control access
• Respond to incidents and emergencies
• Liaise with emergency services when required
• Provide excellent customer service
• Complete incident reports and follow security procedures

Training

• Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
• To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
• Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
• To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
