Qualifications

  • Experience in construction or maintenance works, preferably in highway maintenance.
  • Understanding of the Traffic Management Act (Street works Noticing / Permitting).

You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team in Cambridgeshire. As the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Programme a wide variety of Highways Maintenance works, submit and manage the permit process, and schedule repairs of safety defects.
  • Coordinate work by working with delivery teams to update highway maintenance programmes with progress and meet contractual deadlines.
  • Liaise with Inspectors and Local Highways Officers to ensure all work order information is provided for scheduling.
  • Identify savings and efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Input job details and upload works orders to mobile Causeway devices, providing technical support to operatives.
  • Work with Area Managers, Supervisors, Local Highways Officers, and inspectors to provide updates and minimize issues with timing and delivery.
  • Escalate programme delays to the Area Managers and Supervisors.
  • Handle in-hours emergencies and organize necessary attendance within contractual timescales.
  • Create and update Street works permits and apply for utility stat plans when required.
What you’ll bring:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programmes.
  • Experience in effective programming, ideally in construction or maintenance works, preferably in highway maintenance.
  • Good team player, able to develop relationships at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills to provide clarity and influence decision-making.
  • Understanding of the Traffic Management Act (Street works Noticing / Permitting).
