Area Sales Managers - Mobile Crushing & Screening Equipment

Location: South/South West of England

Salary: Excellent basic salary and commission structure will be offered

The company, operating since 1952, is the appointed distributor of Metso mobile crushing & screening equipment in the UK. They are distributors in Ireland for Metso, Jonsson and MDS crushing & screening equipment, Komatsu construction & forestry equipment, Prinoth tracked carriers and mulchers.

The company also provides spare parts, maintenance and repairs for all products represented and operates throughout the UK and Ireland from its depots located at Tamworth, Edinburgh, Tipperary and Dublin.

The Role

Building on recent growth, they have exciting opportunities for energetic, enthusiastic and highly motivated Area Sales Managers to join their team. Operating from their new UK depot in Tamworth, they are looking for team players with a good knowledge of the UK aggregates, quarrying and recycling sectors, who have the ability to deliver on agreed sales targets of Metso mobile crushing & screening equipment within the assigned territories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the company directors, you will deliver on the annual sales plan of mobile crushing & screening products by targeting existing and prospective customers of Metso mobile equipment within your assigned territory.
  • Drive a pipeline of sales opportunities by maintaining a high level of customer engagement and activity with regular site visits and phone contact with existing and prospective customers.
  • Building & maintaining relationships by engaging with customers in a positive and professional manner.
  • Completing tender documentation and preparing quotations to a high standard.
  • Utilising the company CRM system to manage your schedule and activity and to record customer interactions and opportunities.

You Will Be Expected To

  • Develop your individual sales plan, targeting prospective and existing customers.
  • Ensure your individual agreed sales plan and other targets are delivered upon.
  • Engage professionally and positively with customers up to director/owner level.
  • Contribute to reporting and forecasts of sales activity against plan.
  • Take advantage of opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills of Metso products and services.

Skills And Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience and a proven track record of success selling equipment in any or all of the construction, quarrying, aggregates and recycling sectors.
  • Good contacts with independents, majors and contractors in the UK aggregates industry would be desirable.
  • A good working knowledge of crushing & screening equipment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal & written, and people skills.
  • A strong focus on providing the best customer service experience with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines by planning and managing your time and travel efficiently.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Confidence to represent McHale Plant Sales and promote Metso products with passion, enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm and desire for ongoing training to further develop your knowledge and skills.
  • A working knowledge of quarrying and aggregates industry practice and health & safety regulations.
