Job Title: Operations Controller

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol

Salary: Depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

King Lifting provides plant and machinery movement solutions, contract lifting, and crane hire services across the UK and Europe. We are currently seeking an Operations Controller to take responsibility for the day-to-day logistics of our plant and machinery movement division. You will ensure our plant movement teams, plant, and equipment are allocated to meet project requirements on a daily and weekly basis, working in a dynamic environment:

Duties include:

  • Liaising with area managers, sales, and contract managers to get a detailed understanding of each job ensuring every requirement is suitably resourced.
  • Allocating and instructing the teams to ensure the appropriate operatives and equipment are identified for each job.
  • Sourcing from our internal transport and crane fleet along with mechanical handling equipment and labour.
  • Where required, liaising with our supplier network.
  • Ensuring a detailed record is kept, monitoring location and cost tracking equipment on hire.
  • Responsible for the signing of purchase ledger and ensuring that the rehire cost is minimised.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a self-motivated, confident individual who can thrive under pressure with high attention to detail.
  • Have previous planning or scheduling experience.
  • Possess excellent organisation and inter-personal skills coupled with a positive, professional, and ‘can do’ approach at all times.
  • Have good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Have working experience of Microsoft Office.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of a hire desk within the plant and machinery movement, crane, or plant hire industries, and have experience dealing with and managing sub-contractors based around different geographical locations.

This is an office-based role; you must live within a daily commutable distance of Avonmouth.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.30pm.
